#TheFinal5 Challenge / Finish 2017 STRONG!

With all of the celebrating and busyness of the holidays it’s easy to eat too much, move too little and find yourself spread way to thin. We want to encourage and challenge you to live intentionally for the FINAL 5 WEEKS of 2017 from THANKSGIVING to NEW YEARS DAY.
It is possible to enjoy the holidays and yes, even some yummy holiday eating, without gaining weight. The temptation this time of year is to wait until January 1. You don’t have to wait until the first of the year to LIVE ON PURPOSE. Finish the year strong, one day at a time, with an encouraging community of people just like you!
You can join this event at anytime. And commit to what you feel like you can accomplish and if you miss a day, keep going, get back to the goal. The whole point of this event is to plug in with others and be encouraged and to start the Holidays intentionally with a goal in mind. > Join Facebook Event

(Commit to participate in ANY or ALL of the following – start the challenge at any time)

1. FUEL Intentionally

2. MOVE Intentionally

3. BE STILL Intentionally

1. FUEL Intentionally

GOAL: To eat intentionally & in control during the holidays.

Eat on purpose. Eat to Fuel your body.

Weigh weekly (and only once a week – same day/time) to track your progress. If you want accountability feel free to send to Wayne (615-202-2486) and/or a trusted friend in the group for accountability.
If you don’t have access to a reliable or accurate scale, you are welcome to weigh in at Fortified Fitness. Contact Wayne (615-202-2486) for available times.

  • Logging your food is a great accountability tool and a realistic picture of how many calories you are consuming. Use an APP like MyFitnessPal to calculate and track your calories / meals.

  • Drink eight 8-oz glasses of water a day. (Most water bottles are 16 oz., so that is 4 bottles of water a day.)

2. MOVE Intentionally

GOAL: Set out to be active and move EVERYDAY

Minimum 10 minutes of CARDIO per day – walking, running, biking, elliptical etc. – get your heart rate up – even on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Get your family to go out for a walk with you!

PUSH, PULL, LOWER BODY & CORE EXERCISES (full body balanced workouts)

1. Personal Workout Options to Choose from:
  • 30 REPS (3 sets of 10) of each exercise per day for 3-5 days per week
  • 40 REPS (4 sets of 10) of each exercise for 3-5 days per week
  • 100 REPS (4 sets of 25) of each exercise for 3-5 days per week

2. Attend Fitness Classes or Gym
– There are SO MANY great Fitness Gyms and Studios find one that is encouraging and attend regularly to meet your MOVE Intentionally goal.

See Exercise Resource List posted on The Final 5 Event Wall for examples you can use OR visit link online: http://iamfortified.com/resources

BE STILL Intentionally

GOAL: Take time to spend quiet, focused and undistracted personal time each day.

We were made by God and for God and until we find a deep and fulfilling relationship with our Creator (our Source) we will always feel “off” and unfulfilled and look for other ways to “fill” that void. God our Creator is our starting point, our plumb line for EACH DAY. How can we “know” Him and get to know and trust Him if we don’t spend time with Him? What a great time of year to get to “KNOW” Jesus in a fresh way!

  • Read all four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) – 2-3 chapters a day
  • Read a Psalm, Proverb and Gospel passage per day.
  • Other Ideas: Pray, Read Bible, Bible study, daily devotional, scripture memorization, read a chapter a day, listen to music, JUST BE… be still – Psalm 46:10 – “Be still and know that I am God…..”

Spur One Another On! #TheFinal5
