I AM fortified

What does I AM fortified mean?
People say all kinds of things… I am a carpenter or a secretary or CEO, I am a father or a mother, I am a daughter or son, husband or wife, I am a friend, I am a musician or soccer player, I am strong or weak, I am lost, I am alone, I am the first or the last.
But this is a different kind of I AM statement.
This is a possessive statement, like my last name identifies not only who i am but from WHOSE family i’m from.
In the Bible Jesus said about Himself: “Before Abraham was, I AM“ (John 8:58).”
Jesus answered, “I AM the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
At the burning bush, God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:14).
When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus before he was crucified they asked Jesus to identify Himself and He simply uttered the words “I AM He” in John 18:6 and, by the way, at the power of His name they “drew back and fell to the ground”.
As a Christ-follower, as a Christian born as a “new creation”, I have a new identity, I’ve been adopted into His family, He is my identity, and this means…
i am I AM fortified.
I am because HE IS. He is my Creator, my sustainer, my source. I am His idea, and as a Christian He is my fortification outside (protection) and my fortification inside (strength)… He protects me and He empowers me…
The purpose of this site is to encourage believers to know… to remember, WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST simply because of WHO HE IS and because of WHAT HE’S DONE. And if you are IN Christ, you are I AM fortified: protected & strengthened inside and out. You are capable. You are strong. You are valuable. You are an overcomer… because He is a strong tower, He has already overcome.
So it is with great reverence and thankful humility that we say i am I AM fortified.
